Silence is the best answer for a fool

Today someone said a derogatory something to someone concerning some people like me.
And sometimes I gain the strength to ignore some ignorant people like him but for some reason, I almost said something that would have been somewhat crazy. And if I did, in some way and some how, he wound have found some crazy reason to keep me and some people like me ransom in his crazy stereotype box. This is why silence is sometimes the best answer for fools like him.

Your Fantasy

See the curve in her lower back,
The way those heels hug her feet,
The sway of her hourglass waist
You see her,
You glance
Across the room, across the way,
on the street

 In your mind, on your thought

 Her long silky legs
You could have looked closer

 The words from her caramel lips,
A cry for help
But her thighs,
Exactly how you imagined them
Her chest wide open
Her breasts
Not her decree of desperation

 So you came over
You said hi
She said yes
She is not easy
She is hurt
Though a lot of fun
 On her back
On some bed, in some house

She keeps coming,
Just a little kiss but
She keeps calling,
Just a tender touch then
She keeps stalking
Just one night
Call her baby
Now her turn
with your baby
Only fantasy
Not abortion
A lifetime in sorrow
Always ready to die
Her cry for help

Now your fantasy
Now your turn
try again
look closer
A vicious cycle
A victim of the victimized

Soulful Grace - Monica Stewart

Love this piece of art... what do you think of it?

The Request

Help me not to see your face black man
evil, cruel, creature
help me

Not to hear you
beating her brown skin red,
turning her pink tongue blue

help me
white man
to know the good in you,

its gone now...
lost inside of her after you left

what was once green, now

un-nutured and growing
like a gangrene parasite

festering over questions
tumor over generations, spreading...

help me not to see you

your scarlet words are not love
your "golden" crack won't heal
they only poison her innocent mind

you don't take her pain away...
your "gifts" takes her family away!

you, yellow man

it is you,
a silent disease...
growing and
smothering her womanhood,

like a heart attack,
a stroke,
a cancer of the mind

quitely (emotionally),
unevenly,

spreading...

will somebody please,
rise up,

help her?

My First Love

Like my shadow in the night time,
He is with me
everywhere I go,
He shines on me,
He is my own, my moon, now I can see
so I softly embrace Him

gently...

He is with me everywhere I am...
He goes eagerly
When I run from my imperfections
He stays,
He's here
uprooting the foundations,
the seeds planted long ago
to keep me insane

Eventhough, I didn't want Him there,
when I'd rather laugh in my darkness,
He beams for me relent-
lessly

intercedes for me, unflichingly
He is with me, judiciously

religiously

He is for me,
see Him through me

He never leaves...

Growing up - E. Ethelbert Miller

the day my mother
threw away my comic books
and encouraged me to read the bible
was the day i gave up being
a superhero and started to think
of miracles

this is how i came to love you
like moses looking over his
shoulder before he left that
mountain

Peace of Mind

Deep darkness;
A prison of my own making;
I thought I could breathe

I was blind and could not see…my enemies
Didn’t have to stab me in the back;
I gave them the knife

I allowed their opinions…they’ve dominated my will;
I thought I was safe;
I thought I could breathe…

Queen of Fall

Enjoy "Queen of Fall" by Marcella Hayes Muhammad

Back to the Basis

I was taught not to be complete without you and
As your woman, I should always look to please you

My identity was yours to define
Defile, denial, and delete…I was suppose to be a woman about it

To forget about it…
to forget about the things that made me…
the things that made me, me.

But I’ve always remembered…
Remember that you’re the one that’s forgotten.

You’ve forgotten that there is One above you too

The One that has shaped me fearfully,
He wanted me to be perfect,
He wanted me to love what He’s created
Soooo Wonderfully…

The One who made me, me
Made me completely

Complete
without you.

RED ROSE - Rosalind McGary

SHADES OF BLACK

Hey you,
Sister
Ashamed of my color?
Look closely, I have no mask,
I appear as you see me, no facades

You shouldn’t hate me loving myself
Why bondage?
There is freedom in being free…

It’s in the curve of my lower back
sides merging into my thick brown thighs
My arms strong with my sweet face and flat rounding nose
The gracefulness of my textured hair swinging as I walk
Swinging my gifted hips

My glazing color, like the smooth red soil of Africa

There is freedom in being me, peace
Without your approval.

Sister,
Free your mind

Let the queen inside you emerge like a serene perfume,
You were made with fear and wonder.

Just like
A glance from God

You are like me,

A foundation of things which are astounding,
a deeply nurtured root,
the “iron man” tree of strength and humility

Sister,
We are

A glimpse of everything wonderful,
Unmovable, resilient

Like our ancestors long time ago,
Remember them,
the women warriors,

African, American, Islander
all together,
one shade of black.

gut feeling

I have started to believe in the power of the "gut feeling." I had a gut feeling when I met a man four years ago that he would be the one. My gut feeling was right! Here is the first poem I wrote to him (my very first valentine's day gift to him).

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Title: I Imagined You
I imagined that his face will be as glorious as the morning sun;
His splendor as radiant as the moon
I will see joy in him through his smile,
And strength from his healing wounds
I imagined that each breath he takes is not in vain;
Each day is a special gift to him
I will see vision in him through his eyes;
He has a purpose in mind; an important goal to fulfill
I imagined that the path he walks is approved by God;
Indeed, I will see and hear God in him
I imagined that his words will have wings to fly,
And his character will have anchors to endure each storm.
Life as been so busy with school, relationships, transformations, etc. I have been busy reading a book called the 7 habits of highly effective people and I suggest this book for everyone. Here is a nice quote from the book....
Self growth is tender; its holy ground. There's no greater investment. -Stephen Covey
Black Rain - Alonzo Saunders
I absolutely love this work of art....just fabulous!
Daughters of Eve
I wrote this poem below in honor of two women I once knew; they both passed away of cancer at a very young age. I post this poem today in honor of World's AIDS DAY. Enjoy and share your thoughts!
_________________________________________________________________________
Title: Daughters of Eve
Daughters of eve
As beautiful as can be
Are now being laid to sleep
For all eternity
No chance to blossom, no time to shine
Their stories go unfinished;
No happily ever afters
Let the people gather
Let their memories be revived
Let the people morn
For these daughters will never return
This plague wears many faces…
HIV,
Cancer,
Too many faces
Too many unfinished stories
Let every daughter know her enemy
Let each of them hold on to hope
For the adversary wears many faces
And makes happily ever afters no more
This rope must be stronger
This grip must be hard
Daughters of eve,
This hope must be in God
Hold on and never let go
For the enemy has a trap for your soul.
These lost wear many masks…
Abuse,
Suicide,
Too many facades
Too many unfinished stories…too many have went untold.
Another Litany
This is another litany written years and years ago when I took a sociology course back in my undergrad. days. If this poem sounds aggressive to you, that is because it was written that way....Enjoy!
Title: Like the thoughts in my mind
Like the serpent in the garden, like the real un-religion, like Cain not Abel, like revelation’s pale horse, galloping like the real Christ
Like casual Christianity…
Like the science of evolutionary earth like, their phylum-kingdom-phyla names, like eugenics, like illusions, delusion, like deceit.
Like slave masters, like kkks, like hitlers, like MLK assassins
Like people are dying
Like there is no God, like blindness, like “free the slaves” but separate and not equal, like the crow of jim cruelty, anti-civil rights, like backlash-backwards like.
Like the society backlashing
Crashing like alcoholism isn’t, like cocaine cracking weed, like lust, like money, like hell, like hell’s hell, like burning. Like hip-hopping-keep-killing guns, like lethal-cold lyrics, like weapons-like nuclear-like mass corruptions
Like nine elevens, not even, not fair…
